What you need
- Poster Board
- Fabric
- Transfer Webbing
- Small Box
- Gold Leafing kit
- Foam Letters
- Gold Decorative Trims
- Gold Rope Trim
- Gold Tassel
- Iron
- Low temp glue gun
What to do:
1) Take an 11"x14" sheet of poster board. You can vary the size as needed.
2) Find or make a box that is approximately 12 the size of your poster board.
3) Fold the poster board around your box making sure that it covers with a little bit of overhand.
4) Using Transfer webbing, attach the fabric to the poster board making sure that both sides are completely wrapped.
5) Glue box to one side of the fabric wrapped poster board.
6) Decorate the cover to look like a hard covered book. We used decorative gold trims.
7) Add the title "bible" with black foam letters.
8) Glue a gold rope trim near the base of the box, this will serve as a bookmark.
9) Glue a tassel at the end of the gold rope.
10) Glue to length of the same gold rope to serve as the tie to help keep the box close.
11) Apply long glue lines to the outside of the box. This will simulate pages.
12) Use a gold leafing kit to apply a gold tone to the three sides of the box.
13) Fill the box with a special treat.
Hint:
- We filled the box with a dessert for my daughter's teacher.
