Bird Nest Kit Kid Craft

Supply the birds in your neighborhood with the best supplies.

What you need

• Mesh Onion Bag
• Hair
• Dog Fur
• Dryer Line
• Yarn pieces
• Fabric pieces
• Dried shrubs
• Small sticks

What to do:

1)      Get an mesh bag (we used one from our bag of onions).

2)      Gather items in your home and yard that birds will use to build their next.  Please not that when using yarn and string but into small 2-3 inch pieces.

-          Yarn

-          String

-          Dryer Lint

-          Human hair ( when removed from our daily hair brush)

-          Dog Hair (We helped groom a friends dog)

-          Small pieces or fabric.

-          Small twigs

-          Small dried plant pieces

3)      Spread out your items and start filling your mesh bag making sure to leave pieces dangling from the mesh.

4)      Tie mesh near top.

5)      Cut a few larger slits so that the birds can stick head into bag.

6)      Place on a branch of your choice.

Hint:

• putting near a bird feeder will help the birds find your nesting kit
• Watch the bird gather items from your kit and see where they fly off to.  It will give you clues as to where they are building their nests.
