Fireman Rock Kid Crafts

This is a beautiful faux flower.  Add some perfume and you will keep them guessing whether it is real or not.

What you need

• Rock
• Plastic figure
• Crayons
• Low Temp Glue Gun

What you do

1. Gather a small size rock.
2. Wash rock to remove dirt and soil and wipe dry.
3. Heat oven to 200 degrees
4. Warm rock for 10-15 minutes.
5. Remove rock from oven with oven mitt and place on cardboard.  Have cardboard on top of cutting board.
6. Take 3 crayons ( orange, red, yellow)
7.  Press crayon against rock and it will melt the color onto the rock.
8. Repeat with each of the crayons until you reached the desired effect.
9. Let dry.
10. Attach plastic figurine with glue.

Helpful hints

1)       We used 3 colors that represented fire.  Red, Orange, and Yellow.

2)       Always start with the darker color first.

3)       Always use precaution when dealing with hot object. Rock will be hot and you should advise your child not to touch. (you can test the rock yourself; it should be very warm to the touch but not burning hot)
