This project is rated Medium  to do.

What you need

  • 6 Paper Plates
  • Feathers (Pink and White)
  • White and orange foam paper
  • Google Eyes
  • White Shelf Liner
  • Orange Chenille Sticks( pipe Cleaners)
  • Marker
  • Low Temp Glue Gun

What you do

  1. Fold 2 paper plates in half.
  2. Outline your hand on a paper plate.
  3. Cut out the hand.
  4. Glue hand and feathers to the side of one of the paper plates.
  5. Repeat on the second paper plate making sure that it goes in the opposite direction so that when we join the two plates the feathers will go in the same direction.
  6. Cut our two neck shapes out of the white foam paper.
  7. Cut out one bill shape out of the orange foam paper.
  8. Glue the two neck shapes together making sure to insert the bills in the correct place.
  9. Glue the neck to the back side of one of the paper plates(the side without the feathers) making sure that the feathers are positioned in back and the neck in front.
  10. Glue orange chenille sticks/pipe cleaners to the same side of the same plate as with the neck.
  11. Now glue the two folded plates together.
  12. Add Google eyes to the head.
  13. Decorate with small basket (we constructed one out of shelf lining).
  14. If available add a small doll or a picture of the baby to the stork's basket.
