Turtle Rock Craft Project

What you need

• Rock
• Crayons
• Wooden Spoon
• Eyes
• Construction Paper
• Low Temp Glue Gun

What you do

1. Gather a small size rock.
2. Wash rock to remove dirt and soil and wipe dry.
3. Heat oven to 200 degrees
4. Warm rock for 10-15 minutes.
5. Remove rock from oven with oven mitt and place on cardboard.  Have cardboard on top of cutting board.
6. Take 3 crayons ( Navy, Red and Pink)
7.  Press crayon against rock and it will melt the color onto the rock.
8. Repeat with each of the crayons until you reached the desired effect.
9. Let dry.
10. Paint Wooden Spoon Black
11. Glue Eyes to Spoon.
12. Glue Rock to Spoon.
13. Glue construction paper feet to bottom of rock.

Helpful hints

1)       We used 3 colors red, pink and blue.

2)       If you choose 3 colors of your own pink one dark one medium and on lighter and melt the darker colors first.

3)       Always use precaution when dealing with hot object. Rock will be hot and you should advise your child not to touch. (you can test the rock yourself; it should be very warm to the touch but not burning hot)
